The Taliban had started as a group of men who wanted to bring peace and Islamic law to Afghanistan. The Taliban wanted to end the chaos the Mujahideen had done and bring order. The first attacks by the Taliban started in local towns in Afghanistan until the Taliban grew more and more powerful and eventually the Taliban basically took over the country (Benson).
